Boys being boys

Jesse and his cohorts just came back from a self-proclaimed epic weekend of climbing Mount Shasta.  Some train for months before attempting this feat, but not these boys.  They mobilized a force of 6 in a few weeks time and on Saturday morning, the ascent began.

After a 3,000 foot climb on their skis, they hit high camp on Saturday afternoon.  Some fellow campers advised them that the wind had been extra strong the night prior and they ought to take precaution when setting up camp.  Clearly, it made sense to build a fort.  In the snow.  For real life survival.   Like MacGiver.  You can see the epicness starting to shine through.

Camping at 10,000 feet under the super moon with good buddies..epicness becoming clearer.

After a cold and restless nights sleep (estimated 10 degrees), the 6 adventurers awoke and prepared for the final 4,000 feet ascent.  They climbed about 1,000 feet and then had to take the skis off and use cramp ons and ice picks for the rest of the way.
It was a victorious climb with a well deserved reward.  After a 5+ hour climb, they skied for 20 glorious minutes down 7,000 feet of untouched terrain.   And then jumped in a big lake.  E-P-I-C.

Jesse hasn't stopped smiling in two days.
